Q: What makes a person unique

Daily writing prompt
Which aspects do you think makes a person unique?

A person’s intelligence, their humour, their casual demeanour. The way someone behaves and mostly, how they react in different situations. These are all characteristics that have so many variables that they make us stand out.

While I agree that we are all unique to an extend, I also noticed that people fall into types, all over the world. I’ve travelled extensively, so I can tell you – there are people who are so similar in completely opposite parts of the world. They’ve never met, never had a chance to observe or imitate one another, but they look and act very much alike. Usually they have similar appearance, similar gestures and often, even talk alike.
It’s a weird occurrence that I first noticed when I moved to England from Bulgaria. Two very different cultures with very different social setups and history. I met people who reminded me of friends I have back home and they had no connection, no similarities in their background or upbringing and yet, they shared so many traits. This is when I discovered that people do fall into types all over the world. If they have a similar physical appearance, the chances are, their body language will be similar and even their character. I later noticed that in other parts of the world, like a girl I met in Tunisia who was like a sibling to my friend from school – they had so much in common, yet none of them ever met the other. Or a girl I met in Germany, who talks exactly like a guy I know from Lebanon. Their tone, their childish-like giggle, their exaggerated vowels and tendency to elongate the last syllable of every word… It’s a non-scientific fact that I can’t explain, but leave a comment if you have noticed this or if you strongly disagree. I’m curious to know if I am completely wrong about this.
