Q: 5 Things That Bring Me Happiness

Daily writing prompt
What are 5 everyday things that bring you happiness?

Sunshine to being with. I am literally travelling the world to escape Winter and the gloomy, grey skies it brings. It’s been 10 years now, since I left London for this very reason and this month marks 7 years of being a digital nomad. As I am currently in Argentina, the Summer is over and Autumn is slowly taking over. The Sun is weak, and some days are very grey, rainy and gloomy. This is when I’m reminded how much the Sun plays a role for my emotional well-being. So, this is why I have to place it first.

Second has to be MUSIC. Quite frankly, there’s nothing a good tune can’t fix. No matter how sad, or lonely, or just down your mood is, there’s a song for it. Or a whole playlist, in my case.
Music is my biggest inspiration and drive. This is also why I dedicate a lot of posts in this blog to my music playlists and I share with you everything I like, so I hope you enjoy these. Check out this page to see them all in one place.

Third: Travelling and exploring the world. Again, this blog is dedicated to my travels, so naturally, it’s one of the things that give me most joy and fulfilment. Nothing beats the pleasure you get from exploring this amazing place we call Earth.

Fourth: Speaking of everyday things, having a walk is something I enjoy a lot too. I’m a walker and I often take a stroll in the afternoon, especially when the weather is nice. Yesterday I was going to the dentist (that wasn’t enjoyable) and instead of taking a cab, which I do when in a hurry, I made sure to have plenty of time, so I walked about 40 minutes and enjoyed my day. On my way back I walked too, popping into several shops and ended up buying a ton of things for my new flat, which turned into a productive endeavour.

Fifth: Having a spliff. Yes, I do enjoy a joint now and then… or sometimes on the daily. It makes me happy, so don’t judge. Nothing better than a soothing smoke that slows you down after the rush of daily trivia.
