In Focus: Guy Bourdin at Somerset House, London

I had to dig into my archives for this one and I’m thrilled today, to share with you my highlights from the Guy Bourdin Retrospective Show at Somerset House some time ago. This is from around 15 years ago and must be one of my early reportages from trips to galleries and museums. As an avid photographer, I was very inspired by Guy Bourdin’s sense of humour, his elegant use of symmetry and his raw, analogue photo graphic tricks, so perfectly aligned with the 60s op-art movement. His seemingly mundane set ups juxtaposed with luxury, high-end fashion for his editorials were another big moment in my own journey in this field (in my late 20s). I hope you enjoy this as much I did.

I hope this quick virtual tour has inspired you to look at art with fresh eyes and perhaps even sparked your own desire to visit their incredible collection. Thank you for joining me on this adventure. Stay tuned for more stories, discoveries, and glimpses into the world’s artistic treasures!
